Spotlight Technique

This is in no way anything new however I decided to revisit this technique for my monthly card challenge with my team this month.

An oldie but a goodie that any casual crafter can try.

I had the perfect background stamp I wanted to try with it and this was also an opportunity to do a bit of white colour wash on dark cardstock for the Spotlight part.

This is such an easy technique but so effective.
I started with stamping the Flowers Fair background stamp on a piece of Misty Moonlight in black ink.
Then it was just a matter of die cutting the centre of it out with a shape die, I chose a square rather than a circle just to mix it up.
I applied the white ink to the floral images with a Blender Pen, which meant I had more control of the ink and could apply it in layers until I reached the desire amount for the look I was after.
I popped that square up in dimensionals and then placed it back in the centre, the images all align perfectly.

It needed a little bling so enter the Wink of Stella.
A soft gentle application to random parts of the image gave the centre piece some subtle shimmer.

I wanted the card to be about the image so I kept the sentiment relatively low key and easy with a small strip of beige cardstock and the sentiment stamped in coordinating Misty Moonlight. This sentiment is from a new stamp set coming soon called Sending Salutations.

I'm really happy with this card and I look forward to sending it on its way to someone soon.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card today.
All items used to make this card features below and all items are available for purchase from my online store.

Until next time
Happy Stamping!!!
