If you have been following me for sometime, you will know that a few times every year, about once every quarter, I make a batch of handmade dog and cat cards to donate to my local Vet Clinic, so they can send them to their clients who have sadly lost their fur babies.
I've been doing this since 2017, after I lost my best friend Jackson. I received such a gorgeous handmade and heartfelt card in the mail from the clinic and it was very touching. That card made me have a light bulb moment that I too could be giving back to the community and doing the same thing.
So fast forward to this quarter and this is the design I made 40 of.
I landed on this design this time round for a few reasons.
I wanted something simple because I was making 40.
Plus the clinic has told me that they send out lots more dog cards than cat ones, so this design is generic, meaning it can be sent for either which again makes it easy.
I chose a dark colour for the background to symbolise a difficult time, a lighter layer on top meant I could stamp straight onto it in a darker colour ink. A small single red heart to symbolise the love they had for their family member and the sentiment is more heartfelt than "Sympathy".
The paw print is a single die and NOT a Stampin' Up! product but one I keep on hand for the donation cards.
When I dropped them off last week they were very grateful and very pleased with them.
I'm very happy with these and it makes my heart happy that even during a difficult time, I can provide some comfort in the form of a handmade hug.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my card today.
All items (with the exception of non SU items) are listed below and are available for purchase from my online store anytime.
Until next time
Happy Stamping!
