Happy Birthday

This week my team celebrated another team birthday, this time it was Leonies turn so the team showered her with cards.

We have a Birthday List in the team and we can send cards to each other and not just for Birthdays.

So when I saw the original version of this card, I knew I had to give it a go.

There was really something about this card that jumped out at me, I think it's the stark black background that really sets off the subtle floral image.

Colouring is not one of my strengths but I really dove in with this one. Out came the water painter and a few drops of Old Olive for the leaves and Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo for the flowers and off I went.

Of course my colouring isnt anywhere like the original and I realised halfway through the colouring that it would have been better to use watercolour paper rather than just plain Basic White, but lesson learned.

The white border around the floral image was also cut on the original, allowing the Vellum shadow piece behind to give an even outline border, however I decided to leave mine as is and just offset my vellum piece - I think all to avoid fussy cutting haha.

I'm really happy with it and I hope Leonie was too.I CASE'd the card from Stacey Marsh in the U.K.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card today. A list of supplies features below and all items are available from my online store.

Until next time

Happy Stamping!
