Winter Wonder

Todays card is actually one of my own designs this time rather than a CASE.

This card came about after I saw some small Christmas decorations on the shelf in my local supermarket. They were 3 different size stars with sheer ribbon attached that you could hang on the wall or the front door or even on a window. The starts were glittery so it gave me this idea.

I didn't want the stars to be too big and I didn't want to hang them all either otherwise the card would be too cluttered. After all, a card front is a small canvas to work with.
So I just hung the big star and I embossed that with the Softly falling embossing folder just for something different so it wasn't too plain.
I couldn't believe it when I realized (after I made the card of course) that the star punch is now retired! (slaps head)
However you could use any type of star punch.
I used dimensionals to pop it up.

The smaller stars are die cuts from the Starlight Thinlits Dies set and I have die cut those with the Silver Glimmer paper and one different one with the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper just to break it up so it wasn't all silver.

I deliberately left the background plain so I could emboss just half of the card with the new Winter Wonderland Embossing Folder. I think if I had of embossed the whole background, it would have been too busy. Plus the elements wouldn't have adhered to the card properly with a raised background.

Finished off with a small silver embossed sentiment and punched out with the label punch and then raised with dimensionals.

Even though we don't get a lot of snow in Australia and definitely not at Christmas time, I'm still happy with this card and it will be one I send out this year.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my project.
