Welcome to the Crazy Crafters January 2014 Blog Hop! How exciting! The first one for the year. Even more exciting for me, I am the host for this hop.
Black and White has to be my all time favourite theme. Its timeless, classic, modern and chic.
So I put the suggestion in and that earned me the privilege to host.
Again I wanted to make something different and in the last few weeks I have noticed several Card In A Box creations popping up all over the place. So on the list it went for "things to make".
Not that I need an excuse to sit down and create but I used the blog hop as the opportunity to sit down and make one. I was also lucky enough to receive one of these in a Christmas theme as a Christmas RAK so there was my motivation.
These are so versatile and only limited by the imagination. Better still, they fold completely flat, without disturbing or destroying any of the design. They make a great surprise because the recipient has no idea what it is, that it even opens, and there is a little design in the middle of the box.
I had heaps of fun making this, my table was a bit worse for wear afterwards but that's a good sign that I have had fun.
I got to use my favourite stamp set at the moment that seems to be making an appearance on most of my projects, Papillion Potpourri, which is the cute little butterfly. It also coordinates with a matching punch and it makes a great little accent.
The flowers for the inside are a set called Mixed Bunch and I just recently purchased this and got to use it for the first time. This also coordinates with a punch, which makes it so easy.
The sentiment is from a stamp set that I first saw on a beautiful rak that was sent to me and I just had to have it. Another purchase that I am only just getting around to using. The Lovely Romance stamp set coordinates with the Chalk Talk framelits making it super easy to add a sentiment with out making the project too busy.
A bit of bling was added with some little diamontes to finish it off and presto. There is a panel on the back of the box which has a strip of white card stock attached to the outer side where your greeting or hand written sentiment can be added. Simply fold flat and pop in an envelope and it makes for an unusual and gorgeous alternative to a traditional card. This would be great for birthdays, valentines, mothers day, thankyous and even thinking of you. I love these and can see me making a few more in the future.
