Ephemera Packs

The Ephemera Packs are such a fantastic edition to this years Annual Catalogue offering.

Perfect for beginners, people who are time poor or for those of us (me) who just like quick and simple cards.

The beauty about using these is you really don't need many supplies to make quite a few gorgeous cards.

I'm also a huge fan of the Dotted Circles Embossiong Folder. It's a HUGE folder so you really get your monies worth and that pattern makes for a fun and interesting background.

All I have used for this card is some Cradstock, the Embossing Folder, an Ephemera Pack, some ink and a Stamp Set. Plus my adhesive of choice and simple but pretty cards are born in minutes.

Checkout page 19 of the new Annual to see the Ephemera Pack options in the new Mix and Match section.

Layers of Beauty

I'm just going to put it out there, this card is WOW!

I'm not blowing my own trumpet as I did not design this card but I so wish I did.

I''m a HUGE Patty Bennet fan and this is actually her card she designed. I was so excited to replicate it because of a simple tip she showed which completely changed the look of this card.

Patty showed how different it looked when the main floral image from this Bundle is stamped in Basic Beige compared to Momento Black. It makes it look like the 'no line watercolouring" technique when stamped in Beige. It gives it a softer more realistic look and I love it.

I was a bit reserved about Basic Beige when it was released as I just didn't know how to use the ink. It's going to look weird stamped on darker cardstock and won't even be seen on lighter cardstock. So how do you stamp with the ink? Well I think this is the answer.

The best part about this bundle is that it comes with Layering Masks, meaning to colour the floral parts is super easy, it's done in stages. Start with Mask 1 and then remove and move on to Mask 2 and so on until the image is coloured. As long as you use a good technique to line up your masks, your colouring will be perfect. I used the same colour combo as Patty to keep it easy but I did change the Embossing Folder used for the background (I think).

Layered on Basic Beige cardstock, this card is stunning and a big thankyou to Patty Bennet for inspiring me to use this set and try some colouring with masks.

Adventurous Sky

Something for the boys today!

This set is a bit like yesterdays set, when I saw this one I thought immediately thought of my dad who is a Pilot and has been in the Aviation Industry for many years.

So I had to get this set as it will be perfect for Dads cards.

I actually CASE'd this one from the new Annual Catalogue. I loved the simplicity of the layout. Plus Blue is a great colour for a masculine card which also pairs perfectly with Silver Foil and a touch of grey.

The background was made super easy with the cloud stamps and coordinating dies. The plane might look a bit fiddly to put together but  it was actually quite easy. The fun part about that die is that you can use any combination for the plane and make it any colour you wish. I really like the sentiment too, a play on words and a bit corny but it's perfect. It's sure to put a smile on that special mans face.

Country Flowers

Everytime I see a Tea Pot, I think of my mum, who loves Tea. She has about 10 cups a day!

So when I saw the Country Flowers Set in the new Annual Catty, I knew that set would be appropriate, even to just make mums cards at least.

I CASE'd this one from Heidi Collins of On Y Go Stamping in the U.S.

I love the layout, the use of the dsp and the colouring of the pot. I can always use more practise when it comes to colouring. So it was a good reason to get the Blends out.

I must admit I was nervous about colouring this image but it's actually quite easy.

This card would have made a beautiful Mothers Day card, which here in Australia was yesterday. Then again we should celebrate mum everyday, not just one day a year so you could easily make this into a card for mum for anytime, or even a Birthday or Thinking of You card.
