Ever made a Flip Flap Card?

I bet you haven't....

Just when you think Flip Flaps are for scrapbookers only, introducing the Flip Flap Card!

Thankyou to the ever amazing Patty Bennett who came up with this idea. How great that Patty found a way to incorporate these fantastic scrapbooking products into card making.

I'm no scrapbooker and when I saw that Stampin' Up! had aquired these from the CTMH product offering, I looked straight past them. Then Patty made this card and it was a game changer.

Start with the Brushed Gold Cards and envelopes and trim 2 card bases to 4 1/4 inches and adhere them together to form a tri fold base. This gives you a notecard sized base.

I've used the stunning Wildflower Birthday DSP pack and die cuts to decorate these, as did Patty.

Then comes the fun part

On the centre panel is where you add your Flip Flaps. It's suggested to not add too many as you want to be able to close it comfortably so I think 3 is the max. If you don't know what Flip Flaps are, they are small plastic pockets to add elements, like dsp, photos, die cuts and layer them on top of each other to create a small album to flip through.

I've just added elements from the dsp pack using paper and the die cuts.

They come with an adhesive strip so they are super easy to stick down. A tip is to adhere the top one down first.

Then when you have lined up and adhered all your flip flaps down (make sure to fill them first), you can create a panel on the bottom to write a message. So the recipient flips through all the pretty pockets first and lands on the sentiment last.

The tri fold can then be finished off with wrapping some ribbon around the base and tied in a lovely bow. Another tip: DO NOT use Dimensionals on the inside, it will make it too bulky to close.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE these cards so a big thankyou to Patty Bennett for the idea and inspiration.

Also Flip Flaps are currently on sale and in the Last Chance section of the store so be sure to pop over and grab them before they sell out.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card today.

All items used to make this card features below and all items are available for purchase from my online store.

Until next time

Happy Stamping!
