Layers of Beauty

I'm just going to put it out there, this card is WOW!

I'm not blowing my own trumpet as I did not design this card but I so wish I did.

I''m a HUGE Patty Bennet fan and this is actually her card she designed. I was so excited to replicate it because of a simple tip she showed which completely changed the look of this card.

Patty showed how different it looked when the main floral image from this Bundle is stamped in Basic Beige compared to Momento Black. It makes it look like the 'no line watercolouring" technique when stamped in Beige. It gives it a softer more realistic look and I love it.

I was a bit reserved about Basic Beige when it was released as I just didn't know how to use the ink. It's going to look weird stamped on darker cardstock and won't even be seen on lighter cardstock. So how do you stamp with the ink? Well I think this is the answer.

The best part about this bundle is that it comes with Layering Masks, meaning to colour the floral parts is super easy, it's done in stages. Start with Mask 1 and then remove and move on to Mask 2 and so on until the image is coloured. As long as you use a good technique to line up your masks, your colouring will be perfect. I used the same colour combo as Patty to keep it easy but I did change the Embossing Folder used for the background (I think).

Layered on Basic Beige cardstock, this card is stunning and a big thankyou to Patty Bennet for inspiring me to use this set and try some colouring with masks.

Thanks for stopping by today to check out my card. All items used to make this card feature below and are available from my online store anytime.

Until next time

Happy Stamping!
