The Competition

Recently, as I was scrolling through social media, I came across a beautiful card....made by "another company".

This "other company" sells papercrafting products however does not have consultants or demos to buy the product through like Stampin' Up! They have designers that act as affiliates who promote the product by using it but to buy it, you simply go to their website. Not the same.

As soon as I saw this card, the Stampin' Up! version of it popped into my head and I immediately set about getting all the products out I needed to make it. I knew my version would really "pop" and look waaay nicer lol.

Actually this card finished up better than I was hoping, even I was impressed.

The best part about this card was that I was able to raid my scrap box, my box FULL of all my off cuts and oddly shaped pieces of cardstock. The strips of coloured cardstock layered on the left as an accent really makes the card.

I just cut the scrap cardstock into 1" wide strips and kept them long enough to lay over the whisper white layer. Once glued down with Multipurpose glue and dried, i then grabbed my scissors and trimmed them all down along the edges of the layer.

I've used the Stampin' Blends to colour my floral piece from the Bloom and Grow stamp set and die cut, then adhered with Dimensionals.

Now seeing as I cant for the life of me remember or even find in the catalogue the two stamp sets I've used for the sentiments (clearly I'm not looking hard enough), let's just say you can adapt this to make it any occasion card you wish...birthday, thankyou, get well, thinking of you etc.

I hope you like my card, thank you for popping by today to check it out.

A full list of supplies used are listed below.

Until next time, Happy Stamping!
