Celebrate Love

Happy Valentines Day Lovers!

Today's card is inspired by and a little bit CASE'd from Paper Pumpkin, the subscription kit that is available in the U.S. only.

There is something delightful about this card, can't quite put my finger on it.
I think its the colours. I love the natural earthy tones. Especially paired with vellum.
This is the card I CASE'd

I had big plans for my version of this card....but there was one element that tripped me up.

Unfortunately, there was no dsp I could use that was even close to the same design as the gold/copper love hearts on the chocolate background.
I had to improvise. So I made my own.

Firstly, this card presented a fantastic opportunity to use a new product that I had purchased but had no idea what to do with.
The Painted Love Gold Vinyl Stickers.

As you can see, I have changed quite a bit.....a lot more than planned.
I used a splatter background stamp to cover the whole of the Crumb Cake base card, cut a piece of Early Espresso card stock and then covered with the gold vinyl stickers to create the desired background.
I used a different shape love heart for the Vellum piece.
I also learned that you can't stamp on foil without it smudging.
I could have heat embossed but didn't want to risk it.
So I went with the "Love" word sticker instead of stamping.
I left the doily off deliberately but kept the Linen Thread.
Finally I decided to use some Rhinestones but kept them to a minimum so the stickers were the standout of the card.

I'm so happy I stuck with it rather than giving up and throwing it out.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my project today.
