Floral it up!

I have chosen to break out the Stampin' Blends for todays card and CASE a very floral and colourful card made by Platinum Elite Demonstrator Patty Bennett in the U.S.

Now normally this type of card isn't my taste......HOWEVER when I saw the original, I was drawn to it. Now I have made it, I'm very impressed with how it looks in the flesh.

I have used the same Designer Paper as Patty but just chosen a different design from the pack to colour.
I have kept the layout the same and I've also chosen to deliberately not colour all of the pattern on the paper. I like how there are some black and white elements on the background. I worried that if I coloured in all the flowers on the sheet, it would look way to busy.

Now Pattys suggestion was when you have a busy and colourful layer, a way to soften it is to use a plain sheet of Vellum to layer over the top....I think this is the element I was drawn to the most about this card. It really helps to break up the colourful background.

I have used a smaller flower die for the bottom of the Thank you.
I felt it just needed something small.
I'm really going to be sad when the Colour Me Happy Stamp Set is retired.....it's perfect to colour with the Blends.

As always, I have finished it off with a bit of bling, just one single Rhinestone.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my project today.
