Smitten Mittens

When I first saw this set, I wasn't immediately taken by it.
Probably because it is very Winter themed. I love winter but.......
As I am in Australia, its not generally cold let alone snowing in most states here around Christmas time.

But then I saw a delightful card on Pinterest that took my fancy so I decided to CASE again. This time I have CASE'd Sarah Fleming from Texas in the U.S.

I have made a few slight changes from the original but this finished up lovely and I'm really happy with it.
Even though it has an embossed snowflake on the foil as the background piece, however, because its quite covered by the mittens, I thought I could get away with it.

I was originally going to use the Gold Foil but when I cut the pieces and layed the card out before adhering it all down, the gold looked too stark so I switched to the champagne foil which is a bit softer against the red.

The gold bow on the mittens I added at the last minute as the mittens just needed a little something.

I particularly like how the left mitten has the sentiment in the stamp design so there is no need to add a sentiment elsewhere on the card.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my project today.
