While I'm playing with the new Carols Of Christmas Bundle at the moment, one thing I have learned is that I'm quite fond of layering Vellum over the top of designer paper and the look it creates.
I have made a card with this bundle and the vellum but never put designer paper underneath, I just stamped on the vellum and it looked nice but it was definitely missing something.
So when I made this one, I really jazzyed it up!
I also wanted a create a bit of a chic look so I used Crumb Cake as the base card color.
Then I chose the designer paper carefully to lay underneath the vellum. I didn't want anything to loud or over the top, something simple.
When it came to the accents to finish off, I knew I would use the Linen Thread and the new Wooden Elements.
As a small touch, I have used the new Glitter Enamel Dots for the centre of the Wooden Star.
I have found adhering vellum particularly difficult as anything wet like multipurpose liquid glue or even the tape adhesives like snail or fast fuse show through and it looks unsightly.
So now, I am quite partial to the stapler....I think it gives a nice look on the card as well. Stampin' Up! don't sell their hand held stapler anymore however, you could use any office stapler.
The stamped sentiment has been Gold Embossed....so stamped in Versamark, sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder and then heat set.
I'm really happy with how this card finished up.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my project.
