Crazy Crafters April Blog Hop with Special Guest

"Hi Stampers" (if you have ever watched Dawns videos you will get the connection)
Thank you for joining us for our monthly Blog Hop.

We are again very excited and very fortunate to be CASEing another top demonstrator...this time, Million Dollar Earner Dawn Griffith from Dawns Stamping Thoughts.

You may have just come from the previous person or you may be starting the hop here, at my page Michelle Mills - Hello Day Cards.
If you get off track, there is a list of the full line up at the bottom of this post.

I hope as you hop around to all the amazing blogs, you find some inspiration for your projects.

It's no secret, I'm a big fan of Dawn. I pretty much CASE just about everything she makes a video for, so this hop was easy peasy.

I saw the video for this card and was immediately in love.
I knew I had to make this. There is so much I love about this card.

Click on this link to see Dawns full video tutorial on making this card.

 Here is my version

One thing I love about CASE-ing (Copy and Selectively Editing)  is that you can take a card you really like and just change a few elements so as not to copy it exactly.

With this card, I changed four.
1. Dawn made the original card for Easter.
I decided to make a baby card as I don't make any where near enough of them.

2. The color. Dawn made the originals in Blue and Pink to suit boys and girls.
As mine was a baby card, I decided on So Saffron. Again, this is something I don't use nearly enough of and its a soft neutral baby color.
3. The sentiment...as Dawns was an Easter card, the sentiment reflected Easter.
So I chose this stamp set to reflect a new baby. The Washi Label punch is perfect for this sentiment as well.

4. Rather than a fabric bow, I decided to use our new Bow Paper Clips Embellishments for the corner.
They just slide on, so easy.

I found this card so easy and fun to make. Why not give it a try.

Here is a recipe of current products I used to make this card:

  • So Saffron A4 Cardstock 108611 $12.25
  • Whisper White Thick A4 Cardstock 140490 $12.25
  • Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack 138437 $38.50
  • Friends & Flowers Stamp Set 140508 $47.00
  • Suite Sayings Stamp Set 140709 $50.00
  • Washi Label Punch 138296 $31.00
  • 2-1/2" Circle Punch 120906 $31.00
  • Festive Flower Punch (for ears) NOW RETIRED (you can fussy cut these out)
  • Basic Black Archival Ink Pad 140931 $12.25
  • Bow Paper Clips Embellishments 140559 $9.75
  • Dazzling Diamonds 133751 $8.75
