Thank you for joining The Crazy Crafters team for our monthly blog hop. The theme for the May Blog Hop is Sneak Peak, focusing on the pre order items. Our Host is our team leader Kylie Bertucci. We hope you enjoy our virtual hop where you will learn great techniques for your paper crafting projects and be inspired by our talented team.
I have put a bit of a twist on things........I have used a stamp set that isn't on the Sneak Peak list but was gifted to me at the recent Stampin up Convention on the Gold Coast.
After attending the Managers day, we enjoyed the Managers Reception at the Australian Outback Spectacular. After the show, as we were getting back on the bus, this beautiful stamp set was handed to us.
Now the way I see it, if they didn't want me making cards with it before the official release on the 2nd June, then they wouldn't have given it to me early right?? Well that's my reasoning anyways.. lol
So here is what I made.
This is not a color I am normally drawn to use, however I felt a change was in order as I have been using my faves a lot in my projects recently. This stamp set is called Awesomely Artistic and features on page 125 of the new catalogue.
I love how the In Colors compliment each other. In this project I have used Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe.
Again, I'm not a fan of fussy cutting, so I have tried to keep the dragonfly as neat as possible. Then mounted it with Stampin Dimensionals to give it a bit of depth. I then embellished with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. This was stamped in Mint Macaron on Whisper White.
Another great thing about Stampin Up products is often they coordinate with each other. So in this instance I have used the two oval punches which "nest" nicely together for the "friend" piece. For something different I have just randomly added some Linen Thread behind it, just for fun!
As a background piece I chose to just stamp some of the images from the set randomly on the Delightful Dijon cardstock. The splatters were stamped in Delightful Dijon, the leaves in Mint Macaron and the strips in Tip Top Taupe. I have used the 1" Circle punch to punch out the circular image.
To make the card POP, i used the Envelope Paper in In Colors rather than designer series paper, again, just something different. It matches lovely.
Of course it wouldn't be one of my creations without adding a few rhinestones!
I hope you enjoy my creation and are inspired to play with the new in colors.....be sure to hop on over to the next blog.....who will it be?
Until next time
Happy crafting
Michelle
