May Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for the May blog hop. This months host is Angela Lorenz.
We hope you enjoy our virtual hop where you will either learn great techniques for your paper crafting projects or just a chance to enjoy each of the ladies lovely creations!
You should have just left stop number 6 on the Crazy Crafters Hop - Tamie Holt.
If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

Recently, on my facebook page Hello Day Cards, I ran a giveaway. What a response i got!!!
The giveaway was a card kit that could be assembled by anyone, beginner, experienced or advanced, scrapbooker or card maker. It was a design i saw on pinterest and i just added my own touches here and there. Its a simple card but can be used for a few different occasions too so its versatile.
What i loved about it is that is incorporated my favourite framelits die...Dress Up.
You can do so many things with this die limited only by your imagination.

I used black card stock for the base, vanilla card stock for the top and just trimmed the top part off of the die cut. The skirt part of the dress was created using a small doily just folded, adhered together to stop it coming open and then trimmed so you could see the legs on the stand.
Two pieces of chocolate chip ribbon were used for around the waist. A 2" piece was used to wrap around the waist and a 3" piece folded in half was used as the tie. I then trimmed a flower from the flower trim and adhered to the top with a glue dot. A few rhinestones placed around the neck to imitate a necklace and presto, you have a stylish and elegant card.

I really enjoyed making this card and the possibilities are endless with this die. I have seen some creations recently where the negative image of the cut out die is used also. Just place some decorative paper behind this image to imitate a patterned dress. Also a beautiful technique and just another clever way this die can be used.

Here's the recipe for what i used:
The next stop on the hop is the very talented Sarah Rae Oakes.
Be sure to hop on over to her page to check out what she has created this month.
